Fashion photography?

I love the thought of taking photographs of people. There’s no more interesting animal on this planet as far as I’m concerned. And while I absolutely love taking photos of wildlife, I thought it was time to try to find some humans in my new Austin Texas home. Well, I’m not having very good luck with it. I’ve joined some Facebook groups specific to Austin. Specific to models and photographers. Part of the problem I’m running into is that the groups are full of hobbyists willing to do everything for free. That’s problematic when you’re trying to make a living. The second problem I’m running into is people not having respect for my time. I’ve had 6 out of 9 people either not show up or cancel within 24 hours. That’s pretty frustrating. Third, and the hardest for me, is so many of the models I’m meeting, don’t have anything to say in their photography message. I want to tell a story. Like in my special projects. I love models that have a story they want the pictures to tell. When our photography session becomes therapy and we’re both just raw and open. There’s nothing I like better. I guess I’ve just turned into the old man. Hopefully I’ll be able to find some like minded creatives here in Austin and I can get back to making art! Interested?
